Ceasefire, Is This Part of the Plan.......?

בס''ד

It is now 24 hours since the announcement by Hillary Clinton of an impending ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

In the hours before the 8:00 p.m. announcement, the rumor mills between social media, radio and television were just a buzz.

For reasons known only to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Barak, and the upper echelons of the IDF brass, a ceasefire or as they call it an ‘understanding’ with Hamas was reached.

This latest round of Hamas firing mortars, kassamim and grad missiles at Southern Israel lasted 9 days.

For the first time, Hamas showed they could reach Tel Aviv, our business and financial city, Rishon Le Zion, 12 kilometers south of Tel Aviv and part of Gush Dan, and Gush Etzion, in the Judean Mountains directly south of Jerusalem, our capital city.

As of today, we can see, Hamas has the ability to target not only the Southern kibbutzim, moshavim, yishuvim and cities, they can now strike our three major cities and areas around them. Beer Sheva, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

I should note that Beer Sheva, called the capital of the Negev, has been a target for a long time.

What does a ceasefire mean?  Is Hamas going to live in Gaza peacefully, renouncing all terror activities and just be a social party, the masses of Gazians voted for, in their last election or are they going to use this time to restock missiles and missile parts, recruit young, brainwashed boys to be terrorist and offer their lives [as a suicide bomber] for the cause.

I think we all know the answer and so does our government. Hamas are terrorists and will always be involved in terror activities.

Hamas has a goal and a plan on how to obtain their goal.  I pray that our government officials agreed to the ceasefire or understanding, not because of the tremendous pressure Obama, Clinton and Ban Ki-moon put on them, but because they have a plan to stop the terror permanently.

Only time will tell..........

Until next time. Please feel free to comment and share..

Which Country Will Blink First?

בס''ד

At a White House briefing, on July 26th, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to answer a reporter’s question. "What city is the capital of Israel"? A very simple question. The exchange went like this…

Fast forward to the next day. I posted this video on my Facebook page. A friend noted that Canada has also never acknowledged that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. [She knew we are Canadians]. She was right…. I decided that Canada needed a wake up call.

So once again I sent a letter to a prime minister. This time, to Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper. This was my letter.

July 27th/2012
Shalom Prime Minister Harper

Our family are Canadians now living in Israel.  Israel has no better friend than Canada and for that we want to thank-you for standing up with us.

The capital of Israel is Jerusalem, and it is now time for our best friend to publicly announce an undivided Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel and move the Canadian Embassy to Jerusalem.

Once again thank-you for standing with us and we will be watching for your announcement.

Sincerely yours

Two days later I received a form e-mail letter telling me that the Government of Canada appreciates all feedback and will send a detailed response by mail. Hope it doesn’t go the way of our pension checks that sometimes get hopelessly lost in the mail.

If you would like to email Prime Minister Harper and tell him that the capital of Israel is Jerusalem, and he should move our embassy to Jerusalem, his e-mail address is

When I receive a reply, I’ll post it.

Until next time…feel free to comment and share.

A friend just sent me this video...thanks Hadassa

Yerushalayim ours FOREVER!

בס''ד

Last week, a friend of mine, Tamar Yonah, posted an excellent blog called The Appetite For Jerusalem. Her first line says...WE JUST CAN'T BE LEFT ALONE. HOW MANY WAYS CAN THEY TRY TO SPLIT JERUSALEM? Tamar, an excellent question.

For the past 3,500 years, since King David proclaimed Yerushalayim the capital of Israel, Jerusalem has been our capital city. Since 1967, Jerusalem has been our undivided capital city and shall remain so forever!

So why does the world scream, Jerusalem is disputed land, divide Jerusalem, make the eastern part of the city the capital of the state the Palestinians want.

Well world…here is a newsflash for you…there isn’t anything to dispute about Jerusalem. Jerusalem is not for sale, not going to be divided and will remain our undivided capital city..period!

As far as I am concerned, any country that considers Tel Aviv the capital of Israel and chooses to open their embassy there, instead of in our capital Jerusalem, can close down, pack up and leave. What chutzpah!

Back to Tamar’s blog.. The question I see is why do they want to split Jerusalem. And the answer is because our government is not forceful enough in stating the fact Jerusalem is ours… They pussyfoot instead of stating no negotiations on Jerusalem”. The left of our country agrees with the world, “let the Pals have the eastern part”, they say… they just don’t understand how precious this city is to us.

And this ramble opens the door for the world to step in…Our government needs to shut the door tightly for once and for all.

Education is the key here. Our school children must learn the beauty of Jerusalem, the why and how this great city became our capital.

Jerusalem must be a mandatory field trip every year for all grades. Holy sites must be visited, especially the Kotel. Our children have to develop a love and respect for our undivided city.

The IDF now brings every chayal and chayalet during basic training to Jerusalem. They visit the kotel. It is a beautiful sight to see these young chayalim and chayalot standing in front of the wall. For many it is their first visit.

Did you know that the Midrash teaches us that Jerusalem is known by seventy names? Some of the names are: Shalem, Moriah, Ariel, Zion and of course Yerushalayim the most common name of the city in the Chumash [five books of Moses]. The Midrash says the word derives from yireh (see), the name Avraham used  – G-d sees – and salem, which means whole, or peace.

The first archaeological find of the name Yerushalayim written in Hebrew was discovered near the town of Lachish in a burial cave dating from the 6th century BCE.

I fear for my precious city. I fear that there will be a war of words. May Hashem guide and give our government leaders the ability to stay strong and never allow our city to be divided.

Until next time…feel free to comment and share.
