I haven't posted a blog in years..I really don't know why I stopped posting.
So here goes....
I just celebrated my 80th birthday.
My daughters Naomi and Devorah and my son Eli-Chaim, my grandchildren and great-grandchildren made me an amazing party.
I don't take turning 80 lightly. It's a true blessing, a real milestone.
In 2015, I had a heart attack. It was bad. The doctors were not optimistic. But with the Hand of Hashem, and his messenger doctors I recovered and B"H I'm well.
When I think of all the simchas and happenings our family has had since 2015. Grandchildren getting married, great-grandchildren being born, grandchildren serving in the IDF, attending college, graduating. I'm so grateful that I was granted the privilege to shep nachas.
At the party, I gave a very short speech. My words...
When Saba and I got married I was 20 years old. A friend at our wedding called me Mrs Goodman and I said that's Brahm mother..
I was young, a know it all and ready to start my new life as a wife.
22 months later Naomi was born...and I had another new name, Mommy..when I think of all the mistakes we made..I shake my head in horror..
In 1971, at the start of a major snow storm in Montreal, Devorah decided it was time to join the family...After 15 minutes of labor, a nurse in the delivery room started screaming at the doctor, you better hurry up, (he was washing his hands).. this baby is coming without you.. and a couple of minutes later..we heard the precious cry, world I'm here..
And as we all know, Devorah has been a force of nature ever since...
When Eli-Chaim was 2 years old, we were very excited to welcome him to our family. B"H our house was very lively once again.
3 beautiful children...each with their own personality..
Time flies, life goes on, the girls got married...and on a cold Chanukah evening, in 1990, Eliezer called and said it's a boy..I was honoured with another new name, Safta.
Over the years more grandchildren were born, we made Aliyah, we celebrated bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings and the birth of our great-grandchildren.
From wife to Mommy to Safta and now Safta Raba..
What blessings!
I don't take turning 80 lightly.
Every morning when I say Modei Ani, I appreciate and am thankful for everyday.
Hashem has blessed me with a wonderful family, with good health and the ability to enjoy each of you.
This party is amazing..it took a lot of work..
Thank you so much. I love you all.
