Hi Miriam -- loved your blog.
Especia...B"H

Hi Miriam -- loved your blog.

Especially since I just went through -- am going through -- the same thing here in Beersheba. My house in the Old City was sold to a new owner who wanted to move in himself -- and he, the new owner, has been screaming at me, almost on a daily basis, since February. My lease ran until June 30 -- and try as hard as I could (all the same things you did) -- I couldn't find anything at all, until a really remarkable agent found a place that becomes available on August 9.

So I told the guy (the new owner) I'd have to overstay my lease by five weeks -- and just like your Yaffa, I thought he was going to go nuts. Honestly, he stormed over here and I was afraid he was going to hit me -- I've never seen such fury.

Anyway -- he's cooled down a little bit. All is not well, exactly, but I will be moving on August 9 -- I haven't had to call the police. Yet.

All that said and done, it's definitely one of those 'gomzu l'tova' things -- the apartment I'm moving to is not at all what I wanted, not in the neighborhood I wanted, but I have a feeling that everything will be just fine -- and that the day will come when I will say, "Thanks Gd I moved!"

So in the 'misery loves company' category, I loved reading about your situation. See? It all worked out!

Kol tuv
Yocheved MiriamYocheved Miriamnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675909413199524374.post-10296948363183583452010-07-19T11:50:30.323+03:002010-07-19T11:50:30.323+03:00Hi Miriam-

I must say in all honesty that toward the end of your tale, I really felt like dropping your former landlady off a cliff into the ocean.

So now I am wishing you a speedy resettlement and joy in your new home!!

Cheers,
Ellen in FranceEllennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675909413199524374.post-44501214075817340162010-07-19T08:44:30.770+03:002010-07-19T08:44:30.770+03:00can't wait for the continuing saga.
